detour --> bangkok

after long thinking, i've decided to make a detour to bangkok first, then only go to chiang mai. the problem is, i can't change my flight from chingmai, to bangkok. i can only change my departure and arrival date.

now, i'll fly to chiang mai first on 25 march, and take the next flight to bangkok. will be staying there until 29th, then fly back to chiang mai. will lepaking in chiang mai until 2nd april (election day...cool)

why i did this? i've never been to bangkok, and i've never been to chiang mai too. might as well take this opportunity to visit both places. who knows i might learn and discover something different from both places.

since it will be my first time in bangkok, i'm actually still looking for a nice hotel to stay. did some research on the net, and this hotel "the davis" looks quite cool place to stay. i might be staying there. already made my reservation, but haven't confirm yet. they'll email me once confirm everything. that means if the hotel doesn't like me, i've to search for another hotel. my dear friends who've been to bangkok, any recommendations of where to stay? i prefer to stay around sukhumvit area...

i've curi some of "the davis" hotel pictures...hopefully they are ok with it. well, i'll staying there as well, and definitely i'll snap some cool pictures of the hotel, and share it in here (providing they confirm my reservation first...hehe).

communication will be a bit problem, i think. but from what i've heard, bangkok is not too bad, compare to other places. but in order to avoid all of the chicken and duck talk, i got myself a dictionary/phrases, translated from eng-thai....well, i didn't buy it, my friend gave it to me. he asked me to brush up my thai first, before going there. frankly speaking, i've no time to read that phrase book yet. i might read it on the flight to there itself...hehe.

anyway, if you guys have any suggestions/tips/advise or anything to say about bangkok, share share la with me...
