20 years and still strong...

20 years ago, i went to boarding school in seremban. i was one of the 123 students (i think it's 123 la) who were lucky enough to be there. this was in 1985, and there u go, 13 years old and i'm already away from my lovely hometown. i went to SDAR (sekolah datuk abdul razak), which until now i'm proud to be one. 5 years there and there were lots of memories which i still can remember. ohh, out of 123 friends, 3 of them passed away. 2 died of accident and 1 because of blood cancer/disorder which i'm not too sure. al-fatihah to jijoi, awe and megat. may they rest in peace, and placed among all the good ones in heaven.

last saturday, we had a small gathering at one of my friend's place in bukit jelutong. this makan2 gathering managed to gather more than 30 over friends/brothers which i knew them since 1985. it was a very good gathering, since i've not seen some of them since we left school in 1989. good to know also some of them are doing very well now.


the "kambing guling"

the gathering started in the afternoon, and i'm one of the earliest to be there. the host (nickname Sledge) has prepared some good food there, and one of them is the "kambing guling" (lamb roast). wow! the lamb was fantastic, and not to mention some other dishes too. mee kari, mee hoon, bbq chicken, bbq lamb and some other dishes which i can't remember. i was standing there for almost 1 hour, just to makan all the food...perghhhh. (but not as bad as one of my friend, bocin who non-stop makan for more than 1 hour). by the time i finish makan, i can barely stand and walk. have to sit for about 1/2 hour just to recover.

then later, slowly one by one arrived to the gathering. some of them, omg, i can't even recognised. some of them balloned up maximum, unbelievable. very interesting to see how people change physically. majority of them are married and i think that when all the weight gain started. only few of us are still single and available, including me...hahaa. we all still maintain our bachelor shape, and frankly speaking, some of them were very envy of us. this whole marriage and weight gain thingy makes me think twice before going for this live time commitment. but the best part is that u only pay one time and can have sex anytime, i guess.

the gathering continue on until night time. well, i think this is the largest group we can gather after 16 years, since we left school. it's not easy to have this kind of gathering again, unless we do a proper reunion next time. some of my friends from nothern were suppose to be there but cancelled it last minute, otherwise definitely it will be 40 people came for the gathering. wish they were there.

to be frank, i'm myself amaze with our strong friendship, which lasted until now. 20 years since we know each other and still going strong...
