the fish that can't swim: checkers the grand opening

the event took place on 5th may 2006.

the long awaiting checkers pub officially open at hartamas. the whole office was invited to the opening, since one of the co-owner is with flare. we reached there quite late (mandy aka velverse and i) and the place already super crowded. since both of us were super hungry, we went out to nearby mamak to eat. after finish eating, we went back to checkers to join the super cool and crazy crowd. oh ya, if you wanna know why velverse was following my car, becoz at that time, she still belum dapat her car yet. but now...she's a proud owner of myvi. word of wise to my frens out there, if you happen to see an ozzy orange colour myvi with the plate number afs8501 (i think that's the correct plate number), better avoid or overtake tat car...hehehe.

a bit of checkers history. checkers was originally opened in kuantan in 1990. until now, they are still operating and is one of the oldest pub in kuantan. they have their own regulars who always support their business. this year, they have decided to open 1 more outlet in kl, and hartamas is the location (free promo la pulak).

back to the party story, velverse and i lepak there at checkers while waiting for few of our friends to arrive. we were talking and chatting until loh showed up with his friend. party without camera where can. obviously there were lotsa pictures were taken during that night. luckily i brought my camera. the best part, while we were enjoying ourselves there, suddenly one guy came and say hi to velverse. i can't remember the exact conversation but from what i know, he's a blogger also.

guy: excuse me, sorry to disturb u, but u look so familiar. do u blog?
velverse (shy): yeah, i do
guy: i knew it. tat's why i've been thinking where did i see u before. i saw ur picture in ur blog
velverse (still shy): really? i didn't know i'm that glamer
guy: to tell u the truth, i like ur blog. i always go to ur blog. not only me, i oso told my frens about ur blog and they oso love it
velverse (blushing): hehehe....(in a shy way la), tenkiu tenkiu
me (i hv to kacau them): hey, watever ur name is, why don't u stand next to her and i take the picture of both of u
guy: really? ok ok.
me (evil smile): ok, 1..2..3 click
guy: remember to email me the picture ya. this is my card (gave to velverse)
velverse: ok, will do. see u later (and the guy left)
me: wahhhh....u are so famous, and glamer too. u got ur own fan
velverse: shut up. dont talk about it anymore (she sounded very serious)
